White House Firings Follow Far-Right Activist’s Meeting with Trump
The White House has dismissed several administration officials, including at least three National Security Council (NSC) staffers, following a meeting between President Donald Trump and far-right activist Laura Loomer.

Loomer, who has made controversial statements including claiming 9/11 was an “inside job,” reportedly presented Trump with a list of NSC staff members she deemed disloyal, urging their removal. Sources indicate the subsequent firings were a direct result of this meeting.
Trump confirmed the firings, stating, “We’re going to let go of people – people that we don’t like, or people that we don’t think can do the job, or people that may have loyalties to someone else.” However, he denied Loomer’s direct involvement in the specific firings, calling her “a very good patriot.”
Brian Walsh, director for intelligence. Thomas Boodry, senior director for legislative affairs. David Feith, senior director overseeing technology and national security.
Principal Deputy National Security Adviser Alex Wong, also targeted by Loomer, was not among those fired, though his potential dismissal remains uncertain.
Sources suggest National Security Adviser Michael Waltz may have been hesitant to fire Wong due to ongoing controversy surrounding leaked Signal messages related to military strikes on Yemen.

The Oval Office meeting with Loomer occurred as Trump’s economic team prepared a tariff announcement. Attendees included Waltz, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Communications Director Steven Cheung, and Vice President JD Vance. GOP Rep. Scott Perry, who brought his own list of staff concerns, also joined the meeting.
Trump praised Loomer’s recommendations, noting she also suggested people for jobs. Loomer declined to provide meeting details but emphasized “the importance of strong vetting.”
This incident highlights the influence of activists in Trump’s administration. Christopher Rufo, another activist, previously prompted the firing of intelligence officials after publishing internal logs of alleged explicit messages.
Loomer, known for her controversial rhetoric, including anti-Muslim statements, has a history of pushing boundaries. She has also spread conspiracy theories, including those about the 9/11 attacks.
During the 2024 campaign, Loomer’s social media posts sometimes aligned with Trump’s rhetoric, and she appeared at several of his events.
The report also clarified past controversial claims that migrants were eating pets in Ohio, and specified the timing of Lutnick’s greeting of Loomer.
